Getting the Most from Academic Advising

Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 3:00 PM until 4:00 PMPacific Daylight Time UTC -07:00

At Reed, every student is assigned a faculty member as an academic adviser. Through personalized academic advising, students chart a course for their studies that captures their interests while also ensuring that they fulfill their requirements for graduation and are prepared for life after Reed. Whether you know exactly what you want to study or are undecided, your faculty adviser will guide you through the curriculum so that you can get the most out of your four years at Reed.

Join Associate Dean of Admission, Grant Sewell and Professors Kelly Chacón, Suzy Renn, and Kristin Scheible for an introduction to academic advising during which you'll learn how the process works, what to expect in your first meeting with your adviser, and how you can prepare ahead of time.

Please complete the form below to register for this virtual session. You will receive a confirmation email after you submit your registration, which will include a link to the pertinent Zoom connection information. Please note that all times are listed in Pacific Time.

If you have questions, please reach out to the Office of Admission at 503-777-7511 or campus.visit@reed.edu. We look forward to connecting with you!
